One week prior to the season premiere of Empire, Tomei was spotted in Seattle shopping at one of her favorite stores, Totokaelo. When asked about her role on Empire, Tomei told WWD, “It’s a little hilarious fun thing.” Tomei looked around the store and said of her character Mimi, “she could afford every piece of clothing in this store.” Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Fox.
