Okay, so you’ve already seen Mad Max: Fury Road several times, and you love it, and you’re probably already planning your Halloween costume. Would you like to see the movie again? Yes, I know you’ve probably bought the blu-ray. But how about witnessing its glory, brothers (and sisters), on a really big screen worthy of the halls of Valhalla? The shiniest and chromiest movie of the summer, and possibly of the year (in fact, it’s already won that award) is roaring into IMAX theaters next week.

The film did not get an IMAX release in its first run because of some pesky superheroes. “Because IMAX theaters were booked with Avengers: Age of Ultron when Fury Road was initially released domestically, this marks Mad Max‘s first visit to IMAX screens,” reports Comingsoon.net. The comic-book movie made a bajillion dollars at the box-office but unlike Mad Max: Fury Road, it’s a forgettable, CGI-filled cartoon, and I’d be quite happy if Furiosa was allowed to run over Iron Man et al in her war rig. The film has been digitally remastered for the release, making the experience of seeing the war boys, polecats, spiky cars, and the Doof Warrior in glorious IMAX-3D a lovely day indeed. The IMAX limited release (one week) begins on September 11.
