Jackie Collins, the author of 32 novels, died from breast cancer on September 19. She was 77. Jackie Collins was the sister of actress Joan Collins whom Jackie playfully refered to as “the goodie goodie” of the family. She also gave credit to Joan for introducing Jackie to Hollywood. In Tinseltown, Jackie Collins was called a “raunchy moralist” by the late director Louis Malle and “Hollywood’s own Marcel Proust” by Vanity Fair magazine.
Jackie Collins’ latest book, The Santangelos, was her 32nd book. She wrote all of them by hand! She recently invited Hello Magazine to her home in Beverly Hills for an interview. When asked if she would ever quit writing, Collins said, “Never. I’ll be 110 and still writing.”
