Karina Smirnoff is the professional ballroom dancer who won the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars with her partner, Army veteran and soap opera star JR Martinez (Season 13). She recently returned to the show for Season 21 and was paired with professional jockey Victor Espinoza but they were quickly eliminated (week 2).
Now Smirnoff is starring in an episode of The Haunting Of… She’s asked “The Happy Medium” Kim Russo to help her confront ghosts who are terrorizing her family in their Woodland Hills, California home. In the San Fernando Valley, the 37-year-old dancer lives with her parents who immigrated from Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union) to the US in 1993. They settled in New York City, where they owned a liquor store in Staten Island. Smirnoff is an only child. The Haunting Of… Karina Smirnoff airs September 26 at 9pm on LMN.
