Benjamin Adam Cooper was 24-years-old when he was shot dead in his Boothsville, West Virginia home in 2012. Police originally thought it was a suicide. But after dozens of interviews, Taylor County DA John L. Bord discovered Cooper was planning to leave his wife of one month, Samantha Erin (Price) Metzgar. With the help of firearms/ballistics experts and Kelly Siegler of the TV show Cold Justice, Bord was able to secure enough evidence to arrest Metzgar.
Metzgar, now 33 and remarried, has been charged with first-degree murder. Her attorney entered an innocent plea on her behalf. She is being held without bond. She is to appear in court on September 2. The investigation led by Bord and Siegler will be featured on Cold Justice on August 28 at 8pm on TNT.
