Patti Stanger, the star of the reality dating show The Millionaire Matchmaker, is leaving Bravo after eight seasons. In March, the show hit its 100th episode. An insider told People that the show was too expensive to produce and the ratings weren’t high enough to keep the show going.
When asked about the challenge to keep her TV audience interested, Stanger noted the new wave of scripted shows on Bravo including Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce and Odd Mom Out. Stanger said: “I think the stakes are higher in reality. Now, the audience is too wise. Now, you really have to show reality. It’s not easy to launch a show these days.” But that’s exactly what Stanger is about to do. After announcing her departure from Bravo, she wrote on Twitter: “Stay tuned for exciting news as I move to a wonderful new network!”
