Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the forthcoming film The Revenant. He plays Hugh Glass, a frontiersman from the early 1820s who was left dead in the wilderness after being attacked by a bear. (Revenant refers to one who has returned from the dead.) Directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu (Birdman), the film was shot using only natural light. Much of the film was shot in brutal weather conditions in Calgary.
EW writes of The Revenant trailer: “If you need more proof of their (DiCaprio and Iñárritu) manliness, just check out the trailer below and remember, they were battling wind chills that freeze your fingers instantly. Not even bear pelts do much good in that scenario.” The Revenant is expected to hit theatres Christmas Day 2015.
