Since announcing the new play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” via Twitter on June 26, J.K. Rowling has had to correct quite a few misleading (read: wrong) headlines that refer to the play as a prequel. Such constant correction can be tedious, though, so Rowling has had to get creative with her new Twitter responses. Some choice tweets include:
Well, obviously I like to keep things mysterious, so I’ll just say Prequel. A. Not. It’s. https://t.co/gbougs635Q

.@CNBCWorld It’s not a prequel. It really, really isn’t a prequel. Not a prequel. Not at all prequelly. It is an anti-prequel. #NotAPrequel — J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 28, 2015
The play joins a vast and varied Harry Potter empire which has expanded past the original best selling book series of all time into the mediums of film, video games, and even theme parks. Aside from the fact that it is decidedly not a prequel, though, very little is known about “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” at this time. Rowling’s other tweets on the subject mention that the story is best suited to the medium of a play rather than a novel, and it is set to premiere in Summer 2016 on London’s West End. At present, fans will just have to keep checking back on the play’s website and Rowling’s Twitter for more information.
