Rapper Action Bronson was asked on ESPN’s SportsNation if he minds being compared to veteran Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah. Bronson said, “To me, there is no comparison – he is a legend and I am a newcomer.” But when pushed, Bronson said of Ghostface, “He’s not rapping like this no more.” That comment pushed Ghostface Killah over the edge.
Ghostface Killah responded by making a video and threatening to kill Bronson. “I got shooters and them shooters not from New York, nigga,” Ghost warned. “I don’t think you know the magnitude of this. Y’all young niggas like to play games and then when you get tested, y’all runnin’ to the police, B.” That’s not all. Ghostface Killah went on: “Don’t let me hang you from a fuckin’ rope and gut you like a pig to let you out to dry, ’cause it can get done.” Bronson apologized on Twitter. So who won? Depends who you ask, or what you read. The Daily Beast wrote of Ghostface Killah, “only an idiot would actually put a real hit on anyone, let alone a moderately famous person, after having announced it to the world in a widely circulated video.” The Guardian wrote “this video is more akin to a diss track than an actual promise of violence…it’s pretty compelling.”
