Criminal defense attorney Chiquita Tate was working late one night at her office. The 34-year-old had just started her own law firm in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was preparing for a high-profile murder case at the time. From the outside, her life seemed great. She got married just a year before to a man she fell head-over-heels for. But that night Tate became the victim of a horrible homicide. In her office, she was stabbed 38 times.
Her husband, Greg Harris, a carpenter, was arrested for the brutal murder of Chiquita Tate. Police discovered an outstanding warrant for him in connection with a battery-domestic violence case. He was accused of using “force and violence” against Tate in 2007, the year they met. Harris was sentenced to 40 years in jail with no chance of parole. Dateline NBC will feature the murder case of Chiquita Tate on July 17 at 10pm.
