Bill Murray is a force for good in the world, especially if you believe that The Big Bang Theory should have permission to use Ghostbusters footage — or if you’re a reactionary Miley Cyrus hater. There are lots of those, of course. Murray even acknowledges what we’ll call The Cyrus Suspicion as he praises her. The Cyrus Suspicion holds that Cyrus is fun, but maybe not so talented, which Murray describes this way: “I thought she was a knucklehead crazy girl, the kind of girl you’d want to go on a road trip with.” But maybe not exactly blessed with breakout vocal talent, just riding a Hannah Montana wave….

But no! Murray, who worked with Cyrus on a Netflix special, is now a true believer: “I was not particularly convinced, but Miley Cyrus is really fucking good. She can really sing… She floored everybody: Paul Shaffer, George Clooney. All these guys were like, ‘Holy Christ! This girl can really sing!’ I don’t wanna hear any bad rapping on Miley Cyrus.” Murray laid down the Miley law at Comic-Con while promoting Rock the Kasbah.
