There’s a new character on Mistresses. In the Season 3 premiere, fashion designer Calista Raines comes into town like a hurricane. She’s going to keep everyone on their toes, especially Joss (Jes MacCallan). According to showrunner KJ Steinberg, Joss’ relationship with Calista “leads Joss to one of the most dangerous places we’ve seen the show go.” By the end of this season, Mistresses fans are going to ask, “Savi, who?” (Savi was Joss’ big sister portrayed by Alyssa Milano, who left the show after having her second child.)
Calista Raines is portrayed by Jennifer Esposito. She’s best known for her TV roles in Blue Bloods (Danny Reagan’s old partner Jackie), Samantha Who! (Christina Applegate’s BFF Andrea), Rescue Me (Nona), Judging Amy (Crystal), and Spin City (Stacey). Esposito was also in the films Crash, Summer of Sam, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, among others. Mistresses airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.
