In the late 1990s, Missy Elliott was the first female African-American recording artist to form her own record label, Goldmind. Now Elliott is leaning in and supporting the efforts of fellow artist — and now record label owner – Janet Jackson. Yes, Miss Jackson is back in the studio making new music and launching her own label, Rhythm Nation Records.
Her as-yet-untitled album – her first in seven years! – will be released in the fall of 2015. Jackson also announced a world tour, Conversations In A Café. Elliott is helping to spread the good word via Twitter.
