Actor Jon Bernthal has been cast as The Punisher in Marvel’s Daredevil series on Netflix. Bernthal is best known for his roles as Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead and Joe Teague on Mob City. Bernthal’s currently filming Show Me a Hero, an HBO miniseries about what happened when the Mayor of Yonkers, New York placed a public housing building in a white, middle class neighborhood. Bernthal digs gritty books. After reading Ryan Gattis’ All Involved: A Novel, about the 1992 L.A. Riots, Bernthal went on Twitter and told his 301k followers to pick up a copy. Bernthal wrote: “This book is the truth. Trust me. Read it.” Bernthal was 15-years-old in 1992. At the time, he was a student at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC.
