On black-ish, Dre’s (Anthony Anderson) sister Rhonda (Raven-Symone) is in town for Mother’s Day. The siblings “have a playful rivalry in which they jockey for position in their mother’s (guest star Jenifer Lewis) rankings that are released every December.” But this time, it’s spring, and Rhonda has decided to come out to her family as gay. As Raven-Symone explained to Yahoo TV, Rhonda “is about to get married to her partner. Ultimately, she has to come out to her mother, but she doesn’t get to do it delicately!” Will we see Rhonda’s gay wedding on black-ish? “In my mind, that’s a yes! But you have to ask the writers,” said Symone.
Raven-Symone is best known as Olivia on The Cosby Show and Raven in That’s So Raven. She’s recently appeared on Empire. Black-ish airs Wednesdays at 9:30pm on ABC.
