Taya Kyle is the widow of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. Chris was known as the most lethal sniper in US history, with 160 confirmed kills. He spent close to three years in Iraq. When home, for good, he wrote the bestselling book “American Sniper” which was turned into the Clint Eastwood movie starring Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle. Chris Kyle was shot dead before the film came out.
Now Taya has written a book, “American Wife: A Memoir of Love, War, Faith, and Renewal.” It details how she and her family are dealing with Chris’ death. She was recently interviewed by ABC 20/20’s Robin Roberts (May 1, 10pm). Taya told Roberts that she has mixed feelings about the gun range where her husband (and his friend Chad Littlefield) was killed by the troubled former Marine Eddie Ray Routh. “It can be comforting that it was a peaceful place (the gun range) and he (Chris) never saw it coming, and that makes me angry that somebody would– Like, how evil do you have to be,” she said. “The people are there just to help you. It was a beautiful, sunny day.”
