The former lead singer of Creed, Scott Stapp, snapped. In November, he released a strange video of himself talking about being broke and “under some kind of pretty vicious attack.” His wife, Jaclyn, called 911 to report that her husband “had made potential threats about President Obama.” TMZ reported that a judge gave Stapp’s “soon-to-be ex-wife Jaclyn” full custody of their three children, Daniel, Jagger and Milan.
Things look different now that Stapp is in recovery. He said he had “a psychotic break that was brought on by alcohol and drug abuse.” He explained to People magazine: “I thought my family was involved in ISIS, and that millions of dollars had been taken from me to support terrorism. All of it was nonsense I was out of my mind.” Stapp was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He is taking medication for the disorder and is working through a 12-step program. His wife will likely be key to his recovery efforts. Jaclyn’s dedication is astounding and powerful. We wish them luck.
