Evelyn Laverne Mackey was 40-years-old the day she was last seen by her daughter. Before going to school that day, the 14-year-old girl saw her mother leave with her new husband, Merl Mackey. Later that day, Mr. Mackey picked up the daughter at school. He told her her mother had gone to take care of a sick relative who lived out of state. But the relative said they didn’t know about Mackey’s alleged visit. Evelyn Mackey hasn’t been since since. That was 1981.
