A couple of years ago, Dancing with the Stars tried to inject a little comedy into the dancing competition reality TV show. It created a small set to resemble a sports desk. At the desk sat retired football player Jerry Rice (former DWTS competitor), ESPN journalist and funnyman Kenny Mayne, and DWTS judge Len Goodman. At “Dance Center” they reviewed and delivered light-hearted commentary about the performances of the evening.
Now the funny trio is reuniting on DWTS. The show is reviving “Dance Center” for a special appearance on May 5, 8pm on ABC. It will be Rice’s second appearance on DWTS in the past month. He came back to dance at the 10th anniversary show. Rumor has it Goodman will soon retire. Is DWTS testing Rice out for Len’s real judging chair? He’d be the first non-professional dancer in a judge’s seat, but Rice did well on the show and is enormously popular with DWTS fans. Rice has said DWTS changed his life. Will it change it again?
