Country singer Lee Brice just won his first ACM award. His Drinking Class song just made it to the top of Country Aircheck this week, and now he’s performing on one of the most popular shows on TV, The Voice. He can’t dance (I Don’t Dance is the title of his third album, where you can find Drinking Class), but Brice sure can sing and write songs. He’s co-written singles for Garth Brooks (More Than a Memory), Tim McGraw and Eli Young Band (Crazy Girl), among others.
Drinking Class is an anthem he wrote to celebrate the lives of hard-working, blue collar people. Here’s the chorus:
We belong to the drinking class.
Monday through Friday man,
We bust our backs,
So, if you’re one of us
Raise your glass!
We belong to the drinking class.
