The Sharks on ABC’s hit show Shark Tank aren’t always ferocious. Barbara Corcoran–the New York City real estate mogul–is especially adept at using charm as much as pressure to get her deals done. Maybe it’s her real estate business training: Corcoran stages a deal just the way she stages a Fifth Avenue penthouse. Her deals smell great and look full of light. Herjavec is the dancing shark, as in the Kym Johnson-paired competitor on ABC’s sparkling extravaganza Dancing with the Stars. Most business people will tell you that persuasion–not raw power–is the most effective tool they possess. And that’s especially true when the business at hand is something as subjective as dance. Now do what Barbara says! Maybe she’ll find you a penthouse someday.
