It’s Kelly Clarkson night on American Idol. All of the contestants will perform one of the former American Idol winner’s songs. It’s not going to be easy, especially for the guys. Idol mentor Scott Borchetta says Daniel Seavey is going to have the toughest job. “He has to raise his vocal performance,” says Borchetta. “Qaasim will need to find a sweet spot to make sure he delivers.” And Rayvon “really needs to step up.”
Borchetta predicts that of the six guys remaining, Clark Beckham will have the easiest time with his Clarkson song. Of the three young ladies who are left (Jax, Joey Cook and Tyanna Jones) – “Tyanna’s got this,” says Borchetta. “Kelly Clarkson songs are so in her wheelhouse,” he added. Judge Harry Connick Jr. has said the 15-year-old Daniel Seavey will be ready soon, but maybe not just yet. Clarkson was five years older than Seavey when she won in 2002.
