Vin Diesel paid the ultimate tribute to his late Fast and Furious running buddy Paul Walker. Diesel and his girlfriend Paloma Jimenez named their newborn daughter Pauline. Paul Walker died in a car crash in November 2013 on a break from filming the seventh installment of the hugely successful Fast and Furious franchise.
Diesel’s on-screen chemistry with Walker is one of the key elements that drove the Fast and Furious formula. Filming on 7 was completed after Walker’s death–and the stars have all said that the movie was difficult to complete. The film is expected to have an emotional impact that exceeds the previous films in the series. Diesel wrote on Facebook that “our objective was to make Paul Walker proud.” Furious 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3.
