Skar says that when Zedd’s single “Clarity” dropped in 2013 he “remained immune” but that “I Want You To Know” is “great — top hook, characterful vocal and a drop that’s more reminiscent of Joker
Skar’s colleagues, however, think his earlier immunity is spot on. “Everything that’s wrong with EDM,” writes Selome Samuel about “I Want You To Know.” The astute Brad Stabler gives a clue to Zedd’s secret though, and he’s convinced it’ll work for “I Want You To Know” just like it always does: “Zedd’s tunes, over an extended period of exposure, always wear you down to the point where you stop caring that they suck, and you just go with it.” It’s a science, really, running pretty specific formulas.
