A patient on Grey’s Anatomy, 16-year-old James Leggett (Ben Stillwell), had Crouzon syndrome. It’s a genetic condition that occurs when “there is abnormal fusion between some of the bones in the skull and face that doesn’t allow the bones to grow normally, affecting the shape of the head and the appearance of the face.” Before undergoing a radical operation, James got a kiss from his “super hot girlfriend.” When she left the room, James confided to his handsome plastic surgeon, Dr. Avery (Jesse Williams), and said he didn’t know how he got such a hot girlfriend. Jackson told his young patient whatever he’s been doing is working. And when James said “not being weird-looking would be good too,” Dr. Avery told him he’ll see what he can do about it in the operating room.
James’ “super hot girlfriend” was played by Aubrey Peeples. There’s more than meets the eye with this now 21-year-old actress. She was valedictorian of her high school, and was accepted to Harvard University but deferred entry twice, the second time to accept her role as Layla Grant in the hit ABC TV series Nashville. Since deferring, Peeples also landed her first major film, starring as Nicolas Cage’s daughter in the 2014 film, Rage. Oh, and she can sing, too.
