Embattled comedian Bill Cosby, besieged by multiple allegations of sexual assault, has canceled appearances (or had them canceled on him). But Cosby soldiers on, denying all claims through his attorney and playing gigs where they’ll still have him. The Heymann Performing Arts Center in Louisiana is one of those places. Cosby is slated to perform there tonight. Heymann is proud to host Cosby, writing: “BILL COSBY is quite simply a national treasure with the unique ability to touch people’s hearts.”
Cosby issued his own statement to fans attending the show and elsewhere. “Dear Fans: For 53 years you have given me your love, support, respect and trust. Thank you! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces and warm your hearts with a wonderful gift — LAUGHTER. I’m ready!” he wrote, before thanking the Heymann Performing Arts Center specifically. Cosby finished off with a touch of Fat Albert and what sounds like a taunt to some: “Hey, Hey, Hey — I’m far from finished. Sincerely, Bill Cosby.”
