The three-part, six-hour TV miniseries, Sons of Liberty, is airing on The History Channel on January 25, 26 and 27. It’s about the group of young men who made America a nation – George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Paul Revere, among others.
A number of roles are being played by Englishmen including Samuel Adams (Ben Barnes, The Chronicles of Narnia) and John Hancock (Rafe Spall, Life of Pi). Irishmn Jason O’Mara is playing George Washington. But some of the actors are American, too. Two in particular will look familiar to many Americans. John Adams is portrayed by former child actor Henry Thomas (Elliott in E.T.). He’s now 43 years old. Sons of Liberty is directed by Canadian Kari Skogland.
