Nick Fradiani will sing an acoustic version of Peter Gabriel’s song “In Your Eyes” in front of the American Idol judges (Adam Levine, JLo, Harry Connick, Jr.) on Thursday, January 15. As Harry Connick Jr. tells it, the best thing about Fradiani’s performance was watching his girlfriend, Yanni, watch him from the side of the stage. The 28-year-old Fradiani describes his style as pop/rock. He’s a fan of the Beatles and Matchbox 20.
Fradiani is also a guitarist in the band Beach Avenue – they were selected to perform on America’s Got Talent, and made it to the live round in LA but were ultimately eliminated. “A year ago I would’ve laughed if you had said you are going to be on two major TV shows for your music, it’s just crazy,” Fradiani said. He is unfamiliar, apparently, with Hollywood’s fondness for sequels.
