Nintendo’s Bill Trinen gave a sneak peak at the amiibo-powered features of Mario Party 10, which will hit the Wii U on March 20. Mario Party 10 will support nine amiibo figures: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Rosalina, Bowser, Donkey Kong and Wario. It will not support Super Smash Brothers amiibo. As Trinen explained: “You will need to erase that figure’s Smash Brothers amiibo data.”
Mario Party 10 will also include an amiibo party where players can use an amiibo as a game piece on a special board that relates to each character. Ninetendo released the trailer below to get gamers psyched (most are) but it’s also triggered a lot of questions. MarioFafn110 wrote: “amiibo Party looks like it’s using the Classic Mario Party system. So….we….. technically got it back?” Legion Beast replied: “Technically…yes… BUT IT’S NOT THE SAME!”
