Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts will star in and produce a movie about “Batkid,” aka Miles Scott, a 5-year-old leukemia patient who charmed everyone at a Make-a-Wish event in 2013. He wore a mini-batsuit at the event to defend his city of San Francisco from supervillains.
Filmmaker Dana Nachman made a documentary about Miles – “Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World.” It’s showing at the Slamdance Film Festival this weekend. Nachman said she’s thrilled that Roberts and her team would “dedicate their time and creative capital to make sure the widest audience possible will know and love Miles’ story.” Miles is said to be in remission.
