Some fans of The Walking Dead are not happy this morning after the zombie show’s official Facebook page revealed a major spoiler from last night’s episode before many people had watched it. Minutes after the show aired (but only on the east coast, that is) a picture of Darryl carrying a lifeless Beth was posted on the page with the words ‘RIP Beth’. The Internet was quick to respond. “This is the dumbest post I’ve ever seen from an official fb page. Spoiling a major plot point for millions of your fans? Someone should be fired over this,” wrote one outraged viewer.
It wasn’t just viewers on the west coast who were angry. The episode has not yet aired in many markets overseas. “On behalf of Australian viewers I would like to thank you once again for being immense c*nts,” wrote a fan from Down Under. While many were calling for grisly decapitations in AMC’s marketing department, some fans were able to see the lighter side of the controversy: one posted a photo of the words scrawled on the side of the church in the show: You’ll Burn For This. Perhaps someone should tell the Supreme Court about this.
