Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham took all four of her kids to the legendary London art gallery, the White Cube on Bermondsey Street. Within 40 minutes she bought a piece — a present for her husband David Beckham. It’s a neon heart, “For You,” by renowned artist Tracey Emin. Inside the heart are the words “I Felt You and I Knew You Loved Me.” Victoria’s friends, former popstar Louise Redknapp and her husband Jamie Redknapp, own a Emin neon heart, too.
Tracey Emin is part of the group known as YBAs (Young British Artists). In 1997, her work Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995, a tent appliquéd with names, rocked the art world at Charles Saatchi’s exhibition Sensation held at the Royal Academy.
