The 65-year-old French actor Gerard Depardieu (The Green Card, Cyrano de Bergerac) says he was forced to shoot two lions during a trip to Africa. “We broke down on a track in the bush, in Burkina Faso,” said Depardieu. “The two lions waited in front of us and wouldn’t move.” Depardieu said that after hours of being stuck in the car, he and his group had no choice but to shoot the lions. When asked if the lions were eaten, he replied, “Yes.”
Depardieu has made headlines in the news for his recent, unusual behavior off screen. He explained, “When I’m bored, I drink.” He is bored a lot, apparently. As a protest against France’s 75 percent tax on the rich, Depardieu took Russian citizenship in January 2013.
