Zoë Kravitz (daughter of actress Lisa Bonet and rocker Lenny Kravitz) has signed on to star in Vincent-N-Roxxy, an indie crime drama written and to be directed by Gary Michael Schultz (Devil in My Ride). Vincent-N-Roxxy is about a small town loner and a rebellious punk rocker who fall in love and are forced to go on the run. “Violence follows them everywhere” should be the tagline.
This isn’t Kravitz’s first film — she’s had small parts in X-Men: First Class and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road. Roxxy will be her first lead role. Good thing she’ll have co-star Emile Hirsch to lean on. He starred in Sean Penn’s Into the Wild — the film based on the true story of Christopher McCandless, the college student who gave up all his possessions and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Movie critic John Macguire called his performance “astonishing.”
