The suave and debonair Michael Bublé is a Canadian-born singer/songwriter famously known for recording standards, Christmas jingles and wholesome jazz. According to Gawker, Bublé speaks to an older demographic, people who are still tied to that quaint tradition of buying albums instead of just stealing them off the internet. Bublé‘s success demonstrates the enormous power of what Gawker calls that “not-yet-banished sector of entertainment consumers: uncool people.”
The other day, Bublé became hip for a moment. The everything-to-everyone entertainer stepped away from his conservative image and fan base and recorded a short Instagram video of what USA Today calls Kelis’ “booty ditty” Milkshake. It’s probably the most entertaining music on video to come out since The Roots and Jimmy Fallon started sending up the songs of contemporary performers who guest on his show. For full enjoyment: Pay close attention to the Bublé pose and the way he gyrates his hips.
