Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t sober and couldn’t remember the four seasons of The Osbournes when it aired on MTV from March 2002 to 2005. That’s one reason–Ozzy’s sobriety–for the return of the popular, much-watched reality show that set the standard for other celebrity-driven shows that followed in its wake. The Osbournes will kick off an eight-episode special on VH-1. The idea for the special was supposedly Ozzy’s. Filming for the special has reportedly already began in January at the family’s California home. The revised version of the show will center primarily on Sharon and Ozzy and appearances by their children, Jack and Kelly.
Describing the appeal and massive success of the show, Ozzy in his own audacious, uncensored way, told The Times-Picayune, “It was a TV show, which was a good idea that went fucking out of control.”
