Christina Ricci and Clea DuVall will reprise their Lizzie Borden Took an Ax roles in Lifetime’s six-hour miniseries, Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles. Ricci will once again play the ax-wielding murderer, and DuVall will play Lizzie’s siter, Emma. The miniseries will be a fictionalized account based on the real life of Lizzie Borden who was tried and acquitted for the 1892 ax murders of her father and stepmother, Andrew and Abby Borden. No one else was charged with the murders.
Lizzie Borden Took an Ax premiered in January and opened to 4.4 million total viewers making it Lifetime’s second-most-watched movie after Flowers in the Attic. The Lizzie Borden sequel, which will air in 2015, will be written by Greg Small and Rich Blaney, the team that wrote about another young murderer, Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret.
