In 2005, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt starred in the action comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They played a bored married couple who discover that each is an assassin sent to kill the other. Critics lauded the “thermonuclear screen chemistry” between Pitt and Jolie. To help promote the film, Jolie and Pitt posed for a series of photographs titled “Domestic Bliss,” which was published in W magazine. Photographer Steve Klein shot the couple in Palm Springs, playing house with a house full of kids. Looking at the photos nearly 10 years later, the images of the couple surrounded by so many children seems omniscient.
In real life that year, Pitt’s wife Jennifer Aniston filed for divorce, and Pitt became romantically involved with Jolie. In 2006, Jolie announced that she was pregnant with Pitt’s child. Recently married, Jolie and Pitt now have six children, three of whom are adopted.
