In the beginning of the video “red neck couch moving,” all we hear is the wind blowing. Standing outside of a condominium complex, a woman behind the camera captures a large couch teetering on the ledge of a third-story balcony. “This cannot end good,” she cries.
The couch is suspended by wires, which are tied to stakes stuck in the ground below. Inch by inch, the couch totters down the wires – a pulley like system – and reaches the ground safely. “I cannot believe it,” the woman says with relief. Pedro Vera congratulated the rednecks in the comments section: “Brilliant display of engineering skills. For real.” The idea is giving people other ideas, too. Narwhal Bacon asked: “Could this support a 400 pound male? I’d like to be able to skip my morning commuter down the stairs and this looks like it could work for me.”
