Reality TV star Joe Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey recently received a 41 month federal sentence on a number of fraud charges. But there’s one case left on his legal docket. Giudice will return to court Wednesday, October 15 to settle his identity fraud case. He stole his brother’s identity to get a driver’s license after losing his to a DUI.
Joe Giudice can either accept a plea deal (he’s rejected a four year sentence) or go to trial again. A plea deal on the identity fraud charge would simply add to the time he’s already going to serve for the multiple fraud charges. A trial means having his fate determined by a jury, which could mean an additional 10 year sentence. Giudice, who was born in Saronno, Italy and is not an American citizen, could be deported after serving his sentence. When asked about leaving the US for Italy in 5 years, Giudice said, “Is that such a bad thing?”
