The sixth season of the CBS drama The Good Wife will premiere on September 21. Emmy Award-winning Julianna Margulies returns as attorney Alicia Florrick, who’s considering a run for State’s Attorney while she scrambles to keep her law firm Florrick, Agos (or Florrick, Agos & Lockhart we now know) in business. (Client Chum Hum is always on the brink of taking its business elsewhere!) Good news for Kalinda fans; she’ll have a much bigger presence in season 6 as will her sometime lover, FBI agent Lana Delaney.
The writers of The Good Wife have been busy creating new plots and characters for season 6, too. Taye Diggs, who has a lot of TV law firm experience (Private Practice, Ally McBeal), walks into Alicia’s old firm Lockhart/Gardner like he owns the place. (Well, he is an equity partner.) But perhaps more intriguing will be the character played by David Hyde Pierce (Frasier), a legal commentator on TV who gets fed up with the soaring crime rate in Chicago and decides to run for office. Real-life Chicago led the nation in homicides in 2013, and the city experienced a bloody Fourth of July weekend this year that left more than a dozen people dead and dozens injured.
