Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Gorga (husband of housewife Melissa Gorga) is in a New Jersey court trying to evict the tenant of his Montville mansion. Earlier this year, as reported earlier, Gorga made a $3.8 million lease-purchase agreement with a man named Kai Patterson. Patterson has lived in the house since April but hasn’t paid all the rent due. Today, Judge Stephen Taylor in Morristown determined that Patterson does owe Gorga $23,477 in unpaid rent and will issue a “judgment of possession” for Gorga. Gorga said he was “pleased” with the judge’s ruling but still thinks Patterson is “a squatter and a deadbeat.”
NJ.com reports that Patterson, a software engineer and entrepreneur, said he intends to make the full payment by the end of Thursday, which would prevent an eviction. That would be nice but Gorga also wants Patterson to reimburse Gorga’s legal fees, too, by Thursday. Whether or not Patterson pays in full and on time, Gorga will pursue a separate action that would allege breach of contract on the lease-purchase agreement. According to Gorga, Patterson owes him an addition $129,557 on the $20,000 per month agreement.
