Justin Bieber attended the charity event Fashion Rocks at Barclays Center in Brooklyn this week. He was invited to introduce singer Rita Ora to the stage but before doing so he couldn’t ignore the booing coming from the crowd. Bieber must have thought the crowd disapproved of what he was wearing, because he took it off. The booing persisted, so he kept going, apparently in an attempt to find the offending article of clothing. He took off everything except for his Calvin Klein briefs underwear, looking in the end like a Marky Mark manque. People grew bored with their boos.
Rita Ora did eventually take to the stage. She didn’t get booed but she did strip off her British flag jacket during her performance of David Bowie’s song, Fashion. (It was an awful lot of taking off fashion, for a fashion week event.) One line from the song summed up the whole night: “It’s loud and tasteless and I’ve heard it before.”
