Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) will reunite with co-stars James McAvoy (The Last King of Scotland) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) to film X-Men: Apocalypse. Filming will begin in April for a summer 2016 release. X-Men: Apocalypse will be set in the 1980s, picking up where X-Men: Days of Future Past left off. It’s being touted as “the biggest X-Men movie yet.”
X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg suggests X-Men: Apocalypse “might be the end of the story.” He says it will be “the completion of what we began in First Class.” However, Kinberg also says that he hopes to make more X-Men movies. “There’s lot of mutants we’re yet to fully explore onscreen… There’s a chance to dig deeper.”
