Britney Spears is on tour. She’s not singing and dancing and promoting her latest album. No, this time she’s selling her new lingerie line. During New York Fashion Week, she held a press conference / reveal in the New York Public Library. The questionable connection between the library and lingerie aside, Britney went without a much-needed bra for the show–which isn’t totally unusual for the pop icon but if you’re trying to sell bras, why not wear one?
Britney is now in London pushing her lacy underwear on Londoners. And who could possibly be a better spokesperson for the Britney brand in England than royalty? And by royalty we mean Princess Kate Middleton. “I would love to see Kate wear my underwear designs – that would be splendid!” said Spears, who also vowed to send one of every piece in the Britney collection to the princess. Kate Middleton in Britney Spears’ lingerie? Britney might come across as a ditzy blond but that was the best publicity maneuver she’s made in years. Royalty is never rude. Princess Kate would never say no, in public, to such a gesture. Royalty is also private so we’ll never know. Kate Middleton could be wearing Britney lingerie right now. Only she and William know for sure.
