Former High School Musical Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale knows TV. She knows what works on-camera and now she’s proving she knows how to work behind the camera, too. Tisdale is the executive producer of the ABC Family show Young & Hungry. And it’s no coincidence that the star of the show, another Disney Channel alum Emily Osment (Hannah Montana), resembles Kaley Cuoco. Oh yeah, and Osment’s funny and feisty character, Gabi, falls in love with a geek (Jonathan Sadowski, $#*! My Dad Says). Sound familiar, Big Bang Theory fans?
Young & Hungry produced just one season so far, but already the show and Emily Osment have been nominated as the Choice Summer TV Show and Choice Female Star at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. Kaley Cuoco is still waiting for a win, too. She’s been nominated as Best Female in a Comedy every year since 2010. (The cast of The Big Bang Theory won Choice Comedy honors at the 2014 and 2013 Teen Choice Awards.)
