Fat Joe’s new single, Stressin’, should really be titled “Not Stressin'” because that’s what the shallow song is all about it. There’s no story or arc to the song, just one visualization after another of Fat Joe wearing designer clothes (Versace), “sittin’ on gold toilets,” and wearing watches worth “seven figures.”
And then Versace model/endorser Jennifer Lopez chimes in with a contemptible chorus about leaving $1000 dollar tips at a club. She sings proudly: “Do we look like we’re stressin. Cause we ain’t.” It’s no coincidence that haute couture designer Versace gets a plug in Stressin’. Ever since wearing that green, plunging dress to the Grammy Awards in 2000 with Diddy, JLo has been a loyal endorser of the Parisian label. Last month, she made a grand appearance at the Atelier Versace show, and her five-foot-long birthday cake featured her wearing the famous dress (while lying on a lion).
