Cable network FXX is putting the entire The Simpsons archive online–so you don’t have to be home to watch Homer. And to celebrate the generous bounty of Simpsonia available online, the Simpsons will perform the ultimate network takeover–starting August 21 FXX will show the longest television marathon in history. It plans to air every Simpsons episode–that’s 522 of them–back to back. When it’s over you’ll have lived through a 25 full seasons of America’s favorite animated family–and a lot of recent American history, too, Groening style.
FXX acquired the rights last year to the Simpsons cache. The new online offering is called simply “Simpsons World.” In putting every episode online FXX is vastly expanding the Simpsons offering currently available on Hulu, which has hundreds of Simpsons clips available and a few recent episodes you can stream.
