Scarlett Johansson is starring in Lucy, an action film about a starlet with supernatural power. Lucy accidentally gets caug ht up in a dark deal. So naturally–sorry, supernaturally–she uses her incredible mind to turn the tables on her captors and becomes a kick-ass martial artist. (That’s not hyperbole–she kicks some ass.) It’s Kill Bill meets Lara Croft. (Angelina Jolie was originally cast as the lead, but dropped out.) Director Luc Besson of The Fifth Element and Le Femme Nikita wrote the script based on the urban legend that humans use only 10% of their brains. Lucy uses 100%. And approximately 110% of her remarkable body.
Watch out for Johansson’s triple-threat co-star, Analeigh Tipton. She’s a former competitive ice skater and contestant on America’s Next Top Model (2003), where she placed third. Lucy will be in theaters July 25.
