Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer is the star of the new WEtv reality show, Dr. Miami. Dr. Miami is Salzhauer’s social media alter ego. Salzhauer/Dr. Miami has become famous after posting videos of his clients’ surgeries on social media. Millions of people watch him perform nose jobs (rhinoplasty), breast augmentations, liposuction, and mommy makeovers, among others.

Mommy Makeovers are popular, so much so that he wrote a book for his patients who need help explaining their transformations to their children. In his illustrated children’s book, My Beautiful Mommy, he tells a story that “guides children through Mommy’s surgery and healing process in a friendly, nonthreatening way.” The book is designed to prepare children (ages 4 and up) for seeing mommy bruised and in bandages and to reassure them that there’s no need to worry, it’s part of the recovery. Dr. Salzhauer suggests reading it with your child at least three times during the plastic surgery (twice before and then once again during the post-op phase). Dr. Miami airs Fridays at 10pm on WEtv.
